@ Archana:
To my view, you can re-consider to give both groups in coming May itself. As you already have spent lot of time at classes to grasp the concepts, I don't think it takes very much time to cover the both groups syllabus, because you already have heard them. Also agreed with above members, getting a rank has its own advantages like articleship at Big4 (sometimes this may not work even if you gets rank, but works definitely if you have reference of Big4 working people). Disadvantage in joining Big4 will be you will be trained mostly in one or two areas for the whole articleship period, and you should be ready to work overnights and outstaion audits etc. So if you are willing for it, you can join it later. But if you have an idea of own practice then doing in Big4 will not help you. You still have 110days left. If you can able to do 10-12hrs daily with concentrated and passionate mind, you can achieve this.
Also take note that giving both groups in Nov. may have change in syllabus like new Acts are expected to be passed like Companies Bill, Direct Tax Code, new IndAS standards, Revised Schedule VI. As you already have taken up the coaching, if any change in syllabus in above issues, then you may need to prepare again or needs to take coaching again. I hope few of above Acts are expected to be applicable for Nov.2012 exams. But not perfectly sure. But chances are more for DTC and IndAS. So choice is yours now. Let others comment on this issue.

I think my story would be really helpful to you.
My IPCC Exams were in May 2010. Until Febraury 2010, I was very sure that I will be completing both the groups. But as I realised that I had done nothing, I started frightening about the exams that whether I will be able to pass.
After that I took some time to relax and made my mind that I will definately clear both the groups. Studied Heavily till my last date of the exam and in august after the result I was in PwC.

even though BIG4 is u r aim i've cleared both groups in nov 2011 in first attempt and getting into big4 is a difficult task coz they look for client recommendation and reference and also u need to be extremely good in academics(IPCC marks shld be above 60%) eventhough i got 55% it was indeed difficult and also it boils down to time like if u have greater vacancy u r chances of getting through are high

I passed CPT in june, 2010. In march, 2011, I was in this same situation.
I chose to drop 6 months. Gave both groups in nov, 2011. Period from may to nov, 2011 was hell of a torture.
But it paid off. Im now in FINALS.... Hurrayyyy
PS: I got 72%
