For fake path error: You can create a folder in C:\ as fakepath and paste xml file in that folder and upload the return

For few cases I am facing the problem as DSC is not regostered and when I try to register the same, it shows error as DSC is already registered.

Pls. help if any one can resolve the problem. Its very urgent

I had the same problem. Took 5 hours to figure. Had to manage some how to meet the deadline.

Hope this helps others like me.

First check if usb token drivers Installed. If they are not installed, you will have to install them from the cd provided with the token. Will only work on xp and windows 2000. I could'nt get it to work on Windows 7 since the driver doesnt install.

Once the driver is installed and you get the message c:\fakepath\XXXXXXXX, go to my computer. Go into C: (C drive) and create a folder fakepath. Copy your xml file into that folder.

Try again and the problem should solve. Happened for me.

I had the same "fakepath" error problem last night while trying to file the tax return. By the time I figured out how to solve it the time was 12:05am. Will my return be accepted as filed in time or will it be considered filed late? Is there some grace period as far as efiling goes when there are technical issues like this?
