Hello  !

According 80 d (2)c medical expenditure incurred on the health of the assessee or any member (senior citizen) of his family as should not exceed Rs 50,000 when no Amount has been paid for health insurance

1. Sec 80D deals with deductions towards mediclaim and the same will be allowed based on the amount of expenditure incurred.
2. As per sec 80D(2)(c ), expenditure will be allowed even if it not in the nature of insurance subject to a limit of Rs. 50,000. The words used in there is "medical expenditure" hence in your case it must be allowed as deduction.
3. Maximum deduction allowed would be Rs. 50,000 with no specific conditions attached to it.
Please correct me if the above solution has an alternative view.
