Hi,

CISA is about IT audits - General Computer Controls, Application Controls and stuff. It does help you in making a career in IT related audits..for eg Banks and Financial Institutions. A good addition to your resume if u want to make  a career in IT related audits and controls. The Indian equivalent is DISA awarded by our institute, ICAI.

All the best...

Thanks Anand for the info

Rhea,

Actually, there are two courses for this.

Apart from CISA, there is CISM also. Both are awarded by Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

CISA stands for Certified Information System Auditor. It is an audit professional certification. Candidates for a CISA certificate must pass the exam, agree to adhere to ISACA's Code of Professional Ethics, submit evidence of a minimum of five years of professional IS Auditing, control or security work, and abide by a program of continuing professional education.

CISM stands for Certified Information System Manager. To gain the certification, one must pass a written exam and have at least five years of Information Security experience with a minimum three years experience of Information Security Management work experience in particular fields.

I hope this information is useful.
