You have to take new registration using Son's PAN...
Also while you cancel the old registration you have to mention that closure is due to transfer of business & mention GSTIN of new business......

No you can't as PAN of proprietor change...
U can continue ur business as legal heirs also
if the proprietor expires GSTIN NO TO BE CANCELLED AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE NEW GSTIN
While the cancellation of deceased GSTN it ask for reason for cancellation & can be select "change in Constitution", as soon as u select the option , it will ask u the new GSTN , proviide the son's GSTN, & submit the application
