Centralise registration of Service Tax

Hi

we have a business grup running the different kind of businesses. under one roof.

we have taken a service tax registration nos. for diff divisions. running from diff locations.

for eg. div a is at BKC, div b is at seepz etc. (every one is billing from there location)

we are planning to have a centralise service tax registration for all these division,

1) is it possible, allowed as per the sevice tax rules / act?

- yes possible

2) what is the procedure?

- Head office will maintain the records and returns and discharge the service tax liability of all branches.

3) what may be problems/shortcomings we may face to do this?

- you ( Head office)have to update yourself at periodic intervals not exceeding a calander months for gross services provided and tax liability.

Mr. Manoj I want to have clarify one thing. As you said  "we have a business grup running the different kind of businesses. under one roof." can I take it is as there is a single Company Registered under Companies Act having different business under one roof and also at several other location? And business group doesnot mean a group of Companies under same management.

clarification to your doubt is as below.

-- As we have a Company named ABC having only one management.

under this a company called A, a div of ABC which is at say BKC ving biz of say computers,

2nd company is called B, a div of ABC which is say at Seepz ving biz of say events management,  so on & so forth there are almost 7-8 companies running under ABC having its name & then a div of ABC.
