whether capital gain distribution(made by US mutual funds) taxed in us tax return is taxable in India?

For Resident Indian... Yes, subject to DTAA

But as per US tax laws Capital gain distribution means activities undertaken by mutual fund house, where in even though individuals doesn't undertake buying and selling it is apportioned in the hands of investors.
Still is it taxable in India? as individual doesn't sell any units. It is just apportioned income just like we do apportionement in alternate investment funds
