Dear All please answer the query ASAP.

My aunty is holding two PAN(s) by default.She is filing her ITR with the PAN no. in which her sur name is incorrect because she was unaware of the fact that she is holding two PANs and the worst thing is that the PAN card in which her sur name is incorrect has not been with her since past few years.Now we want to cancel this PAN but we don't know the procedure.Please tell me the procedure to cancel the wrong PAN keeping in mind that my aunty is not holding this PAN card physically.

You can go through the instrcutions available along with the Change in PAN application form. I think that will give the answers for all your queries. Please go through this

Ok i got the point but as i told you that she dosn't have that PAN physically and it is written in the instructions that the copy of PAN must be given along with application form.When she dosn't have the PAN in hand then how can we give the copy of same. please help me in that situation.

Do she have any PAN allotment letter received from the department?? If she has that then I think you can try with that.

dear friend,

just get the print out of both the pan card (from tin-nsdl). and write a letter to ur ITO informing all this.......(that u had 2 PAN.......etc) & thereafter surrender 1 Pan .

Just file pan ractification form to correct surname. Then nsbl will mail you letter just fill it correct surname and attest it with gazetted office and submit it ...with original name proof like voter id etc
