no, you cannot file return of f.y 2009-10 (A.Y 10-11) section 139(4) belated return states that an assessee can file belated return before completion of one year from completion of relevant assessment year or before completion of assessment so it was in your hand to file return on or before 31st march 2012 that is completion of one year from A.Y 2010-11 (one year from 31st march 2011) . you could hv file return before this date

to file return of F.Y 2010-11 that is A.Y 11-12 you still have time till 31st march 2012

i agree with the answer given by Bharat. The return for F.Y. 2009-10 cannot be filed now. The time limit is 2 years from the end of the relevant financial year. So in your case the last date was 31.03.2012. Now you cannot file the return.
