calcualte Log value without using Log table

Is it possible to calculate log value without using the Log Table but with the sinple use with Calculator??????

first take 12 times root

then minus 1

multiply by 'raised to value'

then plus 1

then 'into' 'equal to' 12 times simulteaneously
