Its purely a rumour. This was already asked many times by many students. Dont trust any sms alerts or rumours. Make yourself confirm by visiting ICAI official website www.icai.org. If it is approved, institute itself will release a notification.

I think its a rumour........ I haven't seen any notification in this regard on icai.org..............

Mr. Arun, it is still a proposal and yet to get final touch by the regulatory board and for others plz mind that its not a rumour. There is a chance that it will get fenalized till next year March/April .

We do know that stipend will be doubled and is pending with the government. I have used the word 'rumour' in the sense, it is not yet doubled at this point of time. I have not totally ruled out the matter.

Approval on Draft Amendments in CA Regulations, 1988: I am happy to inform all our stakeholders that we have received a communication from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs stating its approval to the draft amendments in the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 submitted by us to them in July 2011. Most of our proposed amendments have been agreed to. After preparing the draft notification in agreement with the recommendations of the Ministry, the same will be hosted on the Institute website for public comments and then submitted for vetting by the Legislative Department.
