CA salary proposed 9L minimum from 2012! will it happen???

President proposed CA salary 9L minimum. from next year! will it happen??? or will it be only for first attempters (WHO ARE ONLY FEW IN NO. THANKS TO THEIR DEMAND-SUPPLY CONTROLLING)

if this happens for in general ALL CA's regardless of  attempts . then its A VERY GOOD MOVE BY ICAI FOR ITS STUDENTS...

ICAI is minting money right now from every thing they do whether its CPT,IPCC,FINAL,GMCS OR EVEN REVALUATION!!! Its high time they did something FOR THEIR STUDENTS!!! MBA from a good college (not IIM) is given package similar5 or evem more going upto 9-10 L...even i have seen Bcom Hons Students being offered 6-7 lakhs...then what the hell a CA student is doing studying so much in CA ,doing articles if he's not paid  atleast a good pay???

Just Hope that this is for all Students and Thank the president for ATLEAST THINKING ABOUT THEIR STUDENTS !

Here is the

ICAI wants entry-level salary for CAs raised
Abhijit Lele & Kalpana Pathak / Mumbai March 28, 2011, 0:58 IST

Says the rich skill-set of chartered accountants calls for a competitive package.

Companies which wish to recruit fresh Chartered Accountants (CAs) will now have to shell out more as the of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to advocate a 50 per cent hike in floor salary package for new accountants.

This means, minimum pay for the freshly minted accountants will work out at75,000 per month. Last year the floor was50,000 per month

“New CAs get solid grounding while doing their article ship and are good at managing business environment. The compensation should reflect the talent they possess,” said G Ramaswamy, President, ICAI.

“Keeping in mind the rich skill set and varied exposure that the Chartered Accountant students get during their article ship, they deserve a competitive package,” said ICAI vice president Jaydeep Shah.

Last year the highest salary package offered at smaller centres was7.4 lakh which has gone up to9.05 lakh this year.

“The lowest salary this year has been a package of6.5 lakh but most of the students have bagged packages above8 lakh. Considering the companies had registered with us a month ago, we are not making it mandatory this year.

But next year, we may look at this arrangement,” added Ramaswamy.

u can easily get around RS.14lakh packages in some indian an almost all foregin banks provided u r a CA, CS, CFA,,,, a CA alone can surely reach that level but will take a bitmore time... :-)..

im telling u the main reason CA's dont get high packeges is coz they are not proficint in interpersonal skills and have a low emotional quotient...... just meet a guy from any top bschool and ull know wut im taling abt.. belive me.....raise ur above mentioned traits and get all the money u want....

Ya i know thats why Managers earn more and will continue to because it  wont matter if you have knowledge but not able to present it... but what matters is how you can sell your knowledge and communicate to hiearchy levels..

I m on a different topic... whether a CA alone (not alongwith CFA or other degree) going into campus could get a package of min. 9 lakh regardless of attempts and the stream (audit, invstmnt bankng etc) chooses.

Yes minimum salary must b prescribed for all CAs ... Not only for first attempt qualified CAs ...

It should b applicable to all CAs ...

Its really a great move. CA's are paid very low though they have Vast knowledge & experiance.

@ espionagevery true! That's primarily the reason. You ask a candidate face-to-face quite some will fumble. Give them some time to write, they will explain the thing with each and every provision.

A lot articles during articleship are so much bullied by boss, or due to inadequate exposure stay practically dumb.

A friend doing 45-day internship of MBA, says a lot about the things he has been doing this while. Which seems to me pretty great compared to utter waste of 3/3.5 years.

Now to the topic, with this minimum we can expect lesser companies to turn out for campus, as they can always find fresh CA off-campus who lack bargaining power as they have been receiving1000-2000/ month this while.

Whats the use of this hike?? last campus placement only 35% of total applicants got an offer. Leaving other 65% to wonder whether they should have come so far in their career just to be unemployed.

Institute should try to get 100% placement first. At any salary.

Also try to bring more companies to campus placements.

Companies may promise anything in the interview regarding the salary, but do they really pay that much after 3-4months?? ICAI should blacklist such companies/firms.
