CA + CISA

Hi Friends,

I am in final part of CA.

My ambition is to become expert in corporting reporting i.e accounting standards and statutory audit.

I am planning to do CISA in June 2009. I have a few doubts relating to this career.

I don’t have exposure to statutory audit in information systems environment.

Since statutory auditor relies on internal controls, How it is carried out currently without CISA in information systems environment i.e checking controls in information systems?

Does chartered accountant(assuming he doesn’t have CISA) rely on experts report on credibility of controls established on information systems?

Please advise me whether to take up course or not.

Thanks and Regards

Yuvraj could u plz tell me wats cisa exactly

The first thing is that in performing statutory audit CISA qualification not essential....what is important is the knowledge of computer....CISA qualification is required if u want to have system audits......to answer your another query-in the AAS-9 "Using the Work of an Expert" it is specified that "during the audit, the auditor may seek to obtain, in conjunction with the client or independently, audit evidence in the form of reports, opinions, valuations and statements of an Expert." so the auditor can rely on the reports of the experts.

Thank u

yes i do agree with Mr. Sudipta....
