Am i correct in the following interpretation -
There can never be any automatic Appointment of directors under section 152(7)(b)(iv) which says that where a resolution, whether special or ordinary, is required for his appointment or re-appointment by virtue of any provisions of this Act; the retiring director shall not be reappointed. And Section 152(6)(e) requires resolution to be passed for reappoitment thereby attracting 152(7)(b)(iv) in every case.

non rotational director?
But this sub-section is only applicable in case of retiring directors (as per explanation retiring directors means directors retiring by rotation). Accordingly non rotational directors are out of purview of provisions of automatic appointment.
