Dear Rikin
Thank you for subscribing to the Financial Reporting book. Appreciate bringing to attention your view points. I seek to clarify as under:
1. The Preface of the book – which gives the Author’s note to student on what can be expected from the book, contains disclosure of few topics not covered where there is no value add to be done beyond ICAI material and also that these topics are less tested topics. The text book focuses only on topics where guidance is required for student to understand a topic or gain expertise.
2. The coverage in the book is also spelt out in the cover back side.
3. Financial Instruments is part of Accounting Standards and is covered exhaustively in the First Lessons on AS book
4. Inflation Accounting and Share based Payments is covered in the book and is part of the topic Guidance Notes.
Wish you a pleasant reading and success in the exams. Am sure that all the topics covered in the book are self explanatory and are helping your preparation. In case you require any clarification in any of the topics do not hesitate to write to me.
Please do share your success in Jan 12 when the results come.
Regards
Vijay Kumar"
