 greetings,

i've recently cleared my CA PCC exam. since then i've been thinking about doing an add-on course with CA. i'll be graduating this year with B.com(h). i've set MBA from one of the top b-schools as my target after CA as now one needs atleast 2 yrs of work ex. But i've heard many people do CA and CS together and supplement these two with MBA! i know its a superman's job but i was thinking of going the same way! So now that i've almost done my graduation and PCC, how do i go abt CS?? will i get any exemptions in subjects( of CS)  bcoz of these two things which i have??

thanks in advance,

sabhya.

NO EXEMPTION BUT IF U R B.COM PASSED OUT U CAN DO DIRECTLY INTER

so that means no foundation?? thats super!! ( if its true)

Yes dear if u r graduate then u can enter directly into CS course and other thing is that there is no problem of training. u can complete such training after passing CS inter exam/final exam.

All the best....

cheers.....

ya directly d executive course n den final...n den 15 mths trainin..in which v can get exemption for sum mths as v hav done articleship of CA..

thnks bhumika 4 sharing...................

HELLO

IF U DONE DEGREE THEN DIRECT EXECUTIVE COURSE, AND FINAL THEN 15 MONTHS TRANING..CA ARTICLESHIP WILL NOT CONSIDER IN CS TRANING....NO EXEMPTION YOU WILL GET IF U DONE ARTCILES UNDER CA,,,,,,THEY WILL NOT CONSDIER THAT......

I AGREE WITH BALSUBRAMANYA SIR, NO EXEMPTION FROM 15 MONTHS TRAINING ON THE BASIS OF ARTICLESHIP U CAN CLAIM EXEMPTION IF U HAVE WORKEXP. IN SECRETARIAL DEPARTMENT AND THOUGH SOME SUBJECTS OF INTER ARE SAME IN CA CS THEY DONT GIVE ANY PAPERWISE EXEMPTION IN THIERE COURSE . BUT  I THINK IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO BOTH THE COURSES TOGATHERLY ITS GREAT COMBINATION AND ALONG WITH MBA  U WILL BE ON TOP OF THE WORLD ,GO AHEAD , OUR BEST REGARDS ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU DEAR!!!!

well a graduate can directly enter into the executive course of cs

in CS exemption is given to ICWA passed candidates from 2 papers of inter and 2 papers of finals

earlier the same exemption was also for ca passed studens but when icai introduced cpt to all people be it a qualified cs or a mere 12th passed student

both cs and cwa institutes amended their rules to give no exemption to ca passed candidates

well Bala sir is right

no exemption from 15th month training on the basis of ca articleship

but in cs training u can claim total elimination of training if u have done industrial traning or working in any industry in the capacity of an executive for the or more than the said period of time i.e 15 months

u must be/have done doing the work in those industries as required by the institute for e.g financial accounting, ROC work, compliance work.etc etc

for this reason only iam thinking to do cs after cwa finals

i have cwa finals in this june , and i also have industry experiance of 1 year

so in case i apply after clearing cwa finals

i will b exempted from 2 papers of executive course and 2 papers of final course as well as on the basis of 1 year training ( as i have done for cwa ) will have to do just rest of the 6 months traning

Dear Sabhya ..

i suggest you dont go throw this way to opt CS alongwith Ca.

job profile are different .. you should concertare on CA only try achieve merits rather than

to do any other cources like cs or mba.

there is no substitute of CA in market.

why. i reccomend you becz same way i have done CA & CS and i still confirm you

that  still have only expertise over CA matter.

so please dont move fast.

Regards.

Narendra

A candidate who has passed the Final examination of the Institute is required to possess the practical experience and undergo the practical training or be exempted therefrom as prescribed in the Regulations for becoming eligible to the Associate Membership of the Institute.

The objectives of training is to  apprise the students with the functioning of the Corporate Sector and to create a cadre of professional Company Secretaries having a sound theoretical base and practical exposure to serve trade and industry effectively, both as a part of the management team as well as independent practising professionals.

Training

Students who do not possess the specified practical experience are required to undergo on the job training for a period of fifteen months in recognised companies or under a Company Secretary in Practice duly approved for the purpose.

In addition the students are also required to undergo 3 Month practical training. The practical training is however exempted for students who have undergone 15 months training in a company or under a Company Secretary in Practice.

During the training period efforts are made to develop managerial abilities with emphasis on legal/secretarial/finance areas and to build commercial orientation, problem solving approach and insight into the emerging business environment and to provide extensive practical exposure of various functions which a Company Secretary is required to perform.

Most importantly, stress is laid on building self confidence in the trainees to enable them to deal with routine as well as crisis situations without undue dependence on external help.

A large number of companies and Company Secretaries in Practice located all over India have been empanelled for imparting training to the students of the Institute.

TOP / ADP

Further, before commencing the 15 months training, the students are required to compulsorily attend and complete five days Training Orientation Programme (TOP) which is being conducted by all the Regional Councils/designated Chapters.  Students may like to commence the training, if not already commenced and accordingly submit the Application Form (available on the web site)   and  also available in the concerned Regional Council/Chapters.

Every student of the Institute, who has been sponsored for 15 months training on or after 01/07/2004 either in a Company or under a Company Secretary in Practice is compulsorily required to attend and complete 25 hours Academic Development Programme on proportionate basis i.e. five hours for every quarter of remaining training.  Students are requested to contact the concerned Regional Council/Chapter of the Institute.  He/She will be given the benefit to the extent of the duration of the Programmes.  We have advised the Regional Councils & Chapters to charge confessional rates from the students for attending such Professional Development Programmes.  In case you have already commenced/completed the training, you are advised to submit the Certificates in respect of TOP and 25 Hours ADP.

SECRETARIAL MODULAR TRAINING PROGRAMME

Every candidate passing the final examination of the Institute is compulsorily required to attend and successfully complete the Secretarial Modular Training Programme (SMTP) designed by the Institute for a period of 15 days as a part of the practical training requirement.

The main thrust of SMTP is

  • To apprise the students with practical aspects of some of the important areas of a Company Secretary?s functions.
  • To give first hand exposure in the areas of corporate management and to build commercial orientation and problem solving aptitude.
  • To develop leadership qualities, interpersonal relations, team spirit.
  • Sharpening of skills in decision making.
  • To develop a mind-set for excellence in rendering professional services.

During the programme, the participants interact with senior members of the Institute, Government officials, officers of financial and other Institutions.

Purpose of the SMTP is to build a bridge between knowledge acquired and its application in actual work situations with a view to developing a complete professional and also to enlarge his/her perspective.

BHUMIKA U ARE RIGHT THAT CA ARTICLES HAVE SOME training in finance and accounts ALSO

BUT IT IS ALSO SPECIFICALLY WRITTEN THAT NO STUDENT WHO IS ALSO UNDERGOING TRANING UNDER A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT UNDER THE RULES OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS ACT 1949 CAN CLAIM THAT  PERIOD OF TRAINING AGAINS THE SPECIFIED PERIOD OF 15 MONTHS
