Appointment of independent director
Hi
can company appoint it's additional Director as Independent Director with in 6 month from the date of his appointment as additional Director. is there applicable of appointing pecuniary relationship
please suggest me

According to section 161(!) An additional Director shall hold the office upto the date of upcoming Annual General meeting of the company or on the date on which AGM has been held, whichever is earlier.At AGM such a additional director can be regularised as Independent Director of the Company and such a independent director shall not has or had pecuniary relationship with the Company, its holding Company, subsidiary Company or associate company or their promoters or directors during 2 immediately preeceding finanacial year and during current financial year
