Quick Summary
This discussion addresses how to apply for a TAN (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number) for a proprietorship firm. It clarifies whether to apply under the 'individual' category or as a 'branch of sole proprietorship concern'. The advice given is to apply as an individual for a single TAN, and as a branch if there are multiple businesses under the same PAN. It also touches on how to proceed if the relevant AO code is not available in the list.

Go to Tax consultant they will apply for you
I think under branch of sole proprietorship

You may apply for TAN under individual category if you want to obtain a single TAN.

You need to select branch of sole proprietorship concern when you have more than one business under same PAN.
