Apply for verification or not?

I am the student of ca final and have passed my 2nd group in the recent declared results.
Although i passed in this group but in one subject i did not get as much marks as was expected by me.I don't want the inspection of certified copies as this process doesn't result in increase of marks.
In this regard,my query is as under:
'If i apply for verification of marks for that one subject, can my marks even then decrease and if so then it may also happen that by such reduction of marks i even loose in aggregate and consequently fail in that group'.
At present,my total in this very group amounts to 209 marks.
And pls also reply whether this has happened to somebody else or not?
So Please reply whether this would happen or not or what else? and hence should i apply for verification or not

As per rules there would never be decrase in marks even it clearly show that marks is given wrongly.

But is always adviceable to not do any verfication if  pass in that group,be satisfied my bro.

Anshul,

What is the marks you are short in group 1 after taking into account the surplus of 9 marks from your second group?

I have not yet given the group 1st.In the recent exams,i gave only the 2nd group.

Hence there is no question of being short in aggregate.

Thanks for suggestion sir.But can you pls show that provision which shows that there can't be further reduction in marks.

Bcz some students are saying contrary to you,as they say that still possible reduction of marks can be there.

just go throuh faqs on verification... reduction is possible

Anshul be happy with your present marks, as you cleared group 2. It is now sensible to focus on group 1 rather than spending time and energy on something futile. If you had flunked then it was a serious matter to contemplate and take appropriate action. Please reinvigorate your attention on group 1. Best wishes Sathish

Rather I can suggest to Anshul that You call for the Certified Copies, Where ICAI does not have any powers to do any reverification also as It is not asked by the Candidate/ Applicant & also when you get the papers you will for yourself get to see where there are Less Marks awarded, & Incase if there was any Total Mistake showing Less marks in Marks Sheet then what is awarded in the Paper & question wise then Probably you can tell ICAI about that else even Not tell ICAI as You have already Passed the Group, But by doing this atleast the doubt of Less marks in your Mind will get Just crystally Cleared with a Documentary evidence of paper copise in your Hand.

I am also doing the same, As I have also clread G2 but dont know how, so am rather more curious to see the Papers where I got the Marks to clear the Papers & the group 2 (Except DT where i had expected 60+ ( Got 52 ) & IDT expected 50 - 52 Max ( Got 59 )  AMA expected 34 - 36 Max ( Got 48 ) & ISCA expected 35 - Max to Max 40 ( But Got 43 ) Somehow with the Grace of God & High Luck on my side Cleared G2 with 202 marks in second attempt & Now waiting for G1 in May 2013.

Friends How is G1 easier then G2 or Tougher then G2, As i have not studied G1 but Both attempts I gave only G & cleared in 2nd Attempt, So am really worried & frightned for G1 how Tough it is as compared to G2, is G1 Comparitavely easy & Managable, Pls Tell me the Honest Opinions & experiences.

Listen, more often than not marks are reduced, I would seriously suggest that if you aren't 100% sure that your marks will increase, please dont even think of re-verification. I dont know from where another member got the fact that rules state that reduction of marks is not allowed, i have seen amongst a lot of my freinds that upto 10 marks have been reduced

Agree with CA Tushar Singhania. Don't go for re-verification unless you are short by some marks in 1st group.

 I would say..Be Happy that u cleared !!
