As per section 10(14) of ITA, certain exemption depends on expenditure and certain does not, in which case exemption can be availed up to a fixed limit. What's the nature of expenditure that you are referring to here?
like helper allowance, conveyance, uniform
In case of above, amount exempt would be amount of allowance or amount utilized, whichever is lower
