Hii Ashima,,

Its not communication skill only but current market scenerio is also the main teason why fresh CA are not getting Job immediately...

In communication skill if one understands that there should be fluency in english then thats the not case bt they expects whtever we want to convey them they should clearly understood and not like mess up & create confusion for them. For that only one advise to all that be relax and confident. I advise this becas I had undergone from this phase earlier.

Second problem for frsh CA is market conditon.. Its the main reason why CA's are not getting job immediately. For that I can only say keep patience and u will get best result for ur patience.

As far as my understanding is concerned, communication skills means how you interact and present yourself to your prospective employer or someone else. Communication skills are tested right from the moment you mark your presence with the employer. For instance, if you are appearing for interview, a firm handshake with the officials with a smiling face therein would signal good communication skills, the tone in which you interact, the words or combination of words that you use, your hand, head and shoulder movements, more importantly the facial expressions, these all constitute the communication skills. Not just that, your writing skills are also an important constitutent of your communication skills. Despite being good in your vocabulary or word power, not knowing where and how to use the words will ruin you out of your chances. And I am of the opinion that all this combined with bit of controlled aggression and attitude really comes handy.

Don't know what the market demands from a fresh qualified CA, but on the basis of experience as a budding CA with a couple of leading corporations in their respective sectors, I can say that you are expected to have a command upon the basics in general with bit of sound understanding of the domain that you are being hired for. Sound positive attitude, zeal to learn and team working skills are all that are expected of a fresher CAs and a CA is generally equipped with these traits. Not to forget the general traits that the employees are generally expected to possess.

Its important that you justify your CV and live up to every single word written in it and not otherwise.

I don't think that the issues concerned are any rocket science, its only a matter of right application of the traits that we have acquired or developed, all courtesy to our professional curriculum(s) and premature professional lives as an articled trainee.

i agree, but thses days all r confident and hv terrific communication skills and know their abc quiet well but then also unemployed y so................................

Ashima,

As i said now a days market scenerio is not good..

Not only Chartereds bt all professionals are facing same problem.. The only option is to wait for best opportunity... Not to be carried away by tense of not getting job.

ok one more thing if u can clarify ,is investment banking course, a good option after ca?

I dnt knw about course of investment banking.. Wht is the name of course of investment banking & which institute ??

Yes, its very good to study in the field of investment banking or in financa field

well as of now even i got to do research abt it,just read somewhere about investment banking so i asked.................

We tend to believe that we or someone else have good communication skills, but industry has got different standards and it may be just that one doesn't accomodates well in those. Having said that, though the economic scenarios are also a reason for the bleak prospects, the things aren't that bad as they are made to look.

And one thing that I would like to say that, Not all the Chartered Accountants are "unemployed", few of them are "not working"..

And as far as Investment Banking is concerned, it is definitely a good option. You may either go for speciliazed course on IB from "School Of Investment Banking" or may rather pursue CFA having wider purview than just Investment Banking.

ya totally agree they r not ready to work bcoz of one reason or the other.................

i have heard cfa is a tough course, but by the way which institute is good for cfa?one of usa or the ICFAI university?

I would place my bet on CFA, USA. And as a CA student, u need not worry about toughness of the course because you are already playing with fire being a CA student. Even I am planning to enroll for CFA (USA) by the end of the year.

bt still ,cfa wud again b few more month of ordeal...........................what is pass percentage of CFA?ANY IDEA?

I don't know the official figures, neither I have checked it.. BUt have heard through few people that it remains at around 35-40 % for the Level 1 examinations.
