In Nov'10 Exams (Recent Results of PCC declared today) My friend got 61 in Costing/FM & 31 in SM/IT, and he already had an Exemption in Taxation of 61 marks.
In May 11 Exams, Whether he will be entitled to gain the benefit of Both exemptions i.e. Costing/Fm and Taxation or only 1 ?
Exemptions apply to Next 3 attempts.. So he is eligible for both the exemptions..

r u sure ?? where do u get this info from ? coz its like only 1 exemption is allowed in 1 grp ? is it so ?
Yes only one exemption for 1 gr even though u got 60+ in more than one subject and that exemption will valid for 3 attempts after that it expires and u have to re-appear...

As per the ICAI:
A candidate who has papered in all the papers comprised in a group and fails in one or more papers comprised in a group but secures a minimum of 60 percent of the marks in any paper or papers of that group shall be eligible to appear at any one or more of the immediately next three following examinations in the paper or papers in which he secured less than 60 percent marks. He shall be declared to have passed in that group if he secures at one sitting a minimum of 40 percent marks in each of such papers and a minimum of 50 percent of the total marks of all the papers of the group including the paper or papers in which he had secured a minimum of 60 percent marks in the earlier examination referred to above. He shall not be eligible for any further exemption in the remaining paper(s) of that group until he has exhausted the exemption already granted to him in that group.
Hi If I appear for PCE three times n donot clear in all the three attempts, but I gain a 60+ in my 4th attempt in one of the subjects of the two groups will I get exemption in that subject n will it be valid?
Can I examinee scoring more than 60 in his later attempts get exemption? or is the exemptions provided only for the first three attempts only i.e exemptions are limited to first 3 attemptsonly. Pls Reply / Comment ASAP
