As far as i remember my faculty has told me that if nothing is mentioned regarding the type of method to be used for solving the transportation problem you should use Vogel's method.

use vam only since by vam no.of loop decreases .if in vam you getting 3 loops,in other method you will get 8-9 loops for same question. it will kill your time

since vogel's method provides the best possible low cost,the same has to be applied if nothing is mentioned.

Yes, apply Vogel's Approximation Method.
