These guidelines set out the procedure for obtaining a fresh licence or renewing a licence to act as an Insurance Surveyor and Loss Assessor.

Applicants are required to register on the IRDAI portal (www.irda.bap.org.in) to obtain a user ID.

Prescribed forms available on the IRDAI Portal, duly filled, along with all necessary self-attested documents must be submitted online. Applicants must also retain original physical copies of all relevant certificates.

The licence fee can be paid online using BillDesk or PayGov, which offer options like Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, and Wallet.

The 'Fit and Proper' criteria assess an applicant's suitability based on financial integrity, absence of convictions, appropriate competence and experience, good reputation, efficiency, honesty, and absence of disqualifications.

Upon completion of the procedures, the licence will be issued and mailed to your registered email ID.
