FAQ :
The revised excise duty rates will come into effect from 1st June 2026.
This revision affects motor spirit (petrol) and high-speed diesel.
The excise duty on motor spirit will be Rs 1.5 per litre, and on high-speed diesel, it will be Rs 13.5 per litre.
This notification amends the principal notification No. 06/2026-Central Excise, dated 26th March, 2026.
