The State Bank of India (SBI) is issuing Electoral Bonds through 29 authorised branches across the country from April 1st to April 10th, 2021. These bonds, introduced under the Electoral Bond Scheme 2018, can be purchased by citizens or entities incorporated in India. Eligible political parties, which have secured at least one percent of votes in previous general elections, can encash these bonds through their bank accounts. The bonds are valid for fifteen days from the date of issue.

Electoral Bonds can be purchased from April 1st to April 10th, 2021, during the XVI Phase of sale.
A total of 29 authorised branches of the State Bank of India (SBI) are selling Electoral Bonds across various states and union territories.
Electoral Bonds can be purchased by any person who is a citizen of India or is incorporated or established in India. Individuals can buy them singly or jointly.
Only political parties registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and which secured at least one percent of the votes polled in the last General Election to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of the State, are eligible.
Electoral Bonds are valid for fifteen calendar days from the date of their issue.
The Election Commission of India granted 'No objection' subject to the conditions that no political functionary shall make any reference to Electoral Bonds during public speeches or communication to the press or public in poll-bound constituencies, and all relevant provisions of the Model Code of Conduct must be strictly followed.
