The MoU aims to facilitate real-time verification of UDINs through an API integrated into the Army Purchase Organisation's vendor registration process, enhancing transparency and reliability of financial documents.
The integration will be done through an Application Programming Interface (API) within the vendor registration process of the Army Purchase Organisation (APO).
The API integration will automate the verification of Chartered Accountant-certified documents submitted by vendors, ensuring authenticity, minimising errors, and mitigating fraud risk.
UDIN stands for Unique Document Identification Number, a system developed by ICAI to promote authenticity and curb malpractices in document certification.
As of now, approximately 9.72 crore UDINs have been generated by Chartered Accountants across India, and over 3.2 crore UDINs have been verified by various authorities.
