In a relief to taxpayers during the festive season, the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has announced an extension for filing the GSTR-3B return for the month of September 2025.
Originally, the due date for filing was October 20, 2025. However, considering the series of festive holidays across India and to ensure ease of compliance, the GSTN has extended the deadline to October 25, 2025.

The decision aims to help businesses and professionals avoid the typical end-of-period rush, technical glitches, and late fees associated with delayed filings. The move is also expected to facilitate accurate and timely reporting of tax liabilities and input tax credits during one of the busiest months of the financial year.
Taxpayers are encouraged to take advantage of this extension to file their returns through the GST portal - available for both online and offline preparation at https://return.gst.gov.in.
