The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has released Version 2.6 of its comprehensive User Manual for the GSTAT e-Filing Portal. This new version offers detailed step-by-step guidance on every function of the portal, covering registration, appeal and application filing, re-filing processes, document uploads, and more.

Key Features of the GSTAT e-Filing Portal

1. Simplified Online Registration: Users can now register based on their profile, as a taxpayer (using GSTIN), tax official, or authorized representative. Registration involves OTP-based verification, document uploads, and secure login credentials shared via email and SMS.

2. Seamless Appeal Filing: The manual offers a structured walkthrough for filing appeals, including:

  • Order details with/without ARN/CRN numbers.
  • Auto-fetched appellant details from GSTIN.
  • Multiple respondent and representative addition.
  • Payment of pre-deposit via Bharatkosh.
  • Upload of appeal documents and affidavits.
  • Final preview and acknowledgment generation with filing number.

3. Application Filing and Re-Filing: For procedural accuracy, users are guided through:

  • Application form filling under selected appeal.
  • Re-filing in case of defects, with the ability to view, edit, and submit corrected documents.
  • Step-by-step document upload and checklist verification.

4. Additional Document Uploads: An enhanced upload feature allows users to submit extra documents post-filing. Each document is previewed and acknowledged with a receipt for transparency.

5. Cross Objection Filing and Re-filing: Respondents can file or re-file cross objections with ease. The workflow includes uploading replies, representative details, document verification, and final preview submission.

6. 'My Account' Dashboard: A dedicated user dashboard helps track:

  • Filed appeals, applications, and cross objections.
  • Uploaded case documents.
  • Transaction history with download-ready receipts.

The portal includes in-built support features such as:

  • FAQs and contact sections.
  • Options to recover forgotten credentials.
  • "Unlock Account" functionalities.
