Union Finance Minister, Shri P. Chidambaram to inaugurate conference of Chief Commissioners/Directors General of Indirect Taxes. 


To deliberate on steps for revenue mobilisation & tax administration reforms. 

The All India Annual Conference of Chief Commissioners and Directors General of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax will be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 17th&18th July, 2013. Union Finance Minister, Sh. P. Chidambaram will inaugurate the Conference. 

The two day Conference will deliberate on the issues relevant to indirect tax administration, such as Additional Revenue Mobilization (Steps and Implementation), Tax Administration Reforms, Service Tax, Vision for IT Infrastructure for CBEC, Status of GST and Role of CBEC in its implementation and GSTN. 

Dr Raghuram G. Rajan, Chief Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, will deliver the annual “B.N. Banerjee memorial Lecture” named after the first Chairman of CBEC, on “ State of the Economy : Prospects and Opportunities’’. Sh. Jesudasu Seelam, Minister of State (Revenue) will preside over the memorial lecture. Dr. Pritam Singh, Director General, International Management Institute, New Delhi will address the Conference, on the second day, on “Transformational Leadership in 21st Century.” 

The Conference provides a platform for the Chief Commissioners and Directors General to discuss various technical issues and share best practices in an open house.
