Ahead of the Union Budget presentation, several images claiming to be a leaked scanned copy of the Union Budget 2026-27 are being widely circulated on social media platforms, particularly Telegram. The claims have triggered confusion and speculation among the public.
However, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has categorically dismissed these claims, stating that the images being shared are fake and misleading.
PIB Fact Check Busts Budget Leak Claims
In an official clarification issued under #PIBFactCheck, the government confirmed that no portion of the Union Budget 2026-7 has been leaked.
According to PIB:

- One of the viral images is not related to Union Budget 2026–27 at all. It is actually from the Union Budget 2025–26, where the year on the front page has been digitally altered to falsely suggest a new budget document.
- The second image circulating online is entirely fabricated and digitally created, with no connection to any authentic Union Budget document.

No Authentic Budget Document Shared Online
PIB clarified that Union Budget documents are kept under strict confidentiality until they are formally presented in Parliament. Any claim of scanned copies or leaked pages appearing on social media before the official presentation is baseless.
Public Advised Against Sharing Unverified Content
The government has urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid forwarding unverified images, documents, or claims related to the Union Budget. PIB warned that such misinformation can:
- Mislead the public
- Create unnecessary panic
- Undermine trust in official processes
Rely Only on Official Sources
Citizens are advised to rely only on official government channels, including PIB releases and Parliament proceedings, for accurate and verified information related to the Union Budget.
As Budget Day approaches, authorities continue to monitor misinformation and urge the public to remain vigilant against fake news circulating online.
