The e-Filing portal of the Income Tax Department was launched on 7th June, 2021.
Infosys Ltd is the Managed Services Provider for the project, and the Ministry of Finance is monitoring the resolution of technical issues with them.
As of 7th September, 2021, over 8.83 crore unique taxpayers had logged into the portal.
1.19 crore ITRs for AY 2021-22 have been filed, with over 76.2 lakh filed using the portal's online utility.
Over 94.88 lakh ITRs have been e-verified, and 7.07 lakh of these have been processed.
66.44 lakh taxpayers have linked their Aadhaar and PAN.
