Works contract service or not

no...it is not work contract as per the definition of cgst act....as per definition in work contract transfer of property should also be involved.....

yes it is a work contract service.work contract service might contain suppy of material or not.prior to gst they were separately treated but as per gst it is a service

do you have even read the definition .....here it is for you reference-

works contract means a contract for building, construction, fabrication,
completion, erection, installation, fitting out, improvement, modification, repair, maintenance, renovation, alteration or commissioning of any immovable property wherein transfer of property in goods (whether as goods or in some other form) is involved in the execution of such contract

The Sub-contractor works also service. It's not under contact. Bcoz, The Sub-contractor given only service provider not giving goods.....
