My wife till last year had filed ITR 2 showin income from tutions.she completed her Interior designer course.and is employed with consultancy which pays her fixed amount without additional benefits of job and even form 16 is not given.so this year she has income as salary(but no Form 16) and gifts recieved during marriage(May2011),so which ITR form should be filed.also where to show in ITR gifts received during marriage?kindly help

Mr Jain their is no proviso to show Gift in ITR its a capital receipt and not taxable if you have prepared a capital A/c then simply add the same in your wife's capital and nothing else.
And U should file ITR 1 if she has only salary income

she has income from salary and interest income from Fixed deposit which has stilled not matured.
go for ITR 1
