Which is better?

Dear Mansi,

As per my suggestion you should go for satellite classes only and also take help from CDs etc. Reason behind this suggestion is lots of CA final students opt for self study and register success quite easily. So if you take satellite classes you must be in better position to clear finals.

Self study + some help from satellite classes is a good combo for successful study and will save your energy.

One more thing if you go for satellite classes than just be confident and stick to your decision and don not complain regarding satellite classes bcoz these classes can’t be equal to coaching classes. But if your study basics are strong than satellite classes along with with self study is enough to clear final exam.

This is my suggestion for you now decide accordingly.

In my view you don’t want coaching dear, you’re smart enough to clear by self study itself.

Will just answer for your doubt`s here,

1)   Always self study is the best

2)  If you feel any subjects very tough than you can join face to face coaching and that`s best one dear.

3)  Satellite coaching is not much good and its waste in my view, instead of going for that you can do self study by ref other materials.

4)  DVD may be can help you, try for that

Finally my view Self study is best otherwise face to face to face coaching to make yourself easy on tough subjects.

It`s my suggestion rest its your decision dear..

You know self study is a kind of must for every student. After coaching also you have to self study the topics. But there are few pre-conditions for successful self study.

1.    Selection of good reference books is must for doing self study.

2.    Role of scanner is imp in self study.

3.    Take guidance from your friends and experienced students regarding topics to prepare and leave.

4.    Keep yourself updated with latest changes in the field of law and taxation.

5.    You have to be disciplined during self study.

6.    Strictly follow the time table.

am appreciate for replies sir....  will try to go for self studies ... and even in IPCC i have not taking classess of Theory subjects i prefer self study for theories and also 2-3 books which will help me in understanding ... and i think self study and dvd/cd is enough for theories as well as practical and idf i have any doubt then i take answer fro CCI...

I agree with the Richank inputs. Believe in yourself.Plan your studies.

Have good reference books in your hand for all the subjects.

Execute the plan.

In the course of studies, if doubts arise, CCI is there.

Still if clarity is not there, can take the help of DVDS .

While self study, prepare notes for theory subjects as to imp points in each topic

As regards practical subjects, important treatments,formats that come across in each problem.

That will be quite helpful for you at the time of revision and as exams approach.

As time is with you, start preparing systematically from now, good rank is to follow...

This is my view, decission is yours.

i want to suggest you one thing.

self study is no doubt best. but if we have problem in understanding practiclas  then son't waste your time and go for classes which are available in faridabad itself.

and for theory you can go for self study/ dvds.

If you can arrange DVD s of the teacher you want....

these are as good as settelite classess no need to waste time and money .. self study is better options with some good books.

In my opinion, if you are getting the CD/DVD of the teacher you wanted to take the coaching from, Simply go for it. Eklavya ke bare mai to suna hi hoga...Agar aapme sikhne ki chah hai to aapko koi nahi rok sakta...Just go for dedicated self study and take help from the CD/DVD...Also if you know someone who is taking classes from the same teacher you can also take his/her help...But wasting so much time on travelling would be a mistake...

i think should go for satellite coaching bcause u will get to interact with other students and u will come to know about various things which will help you in your studies; and various help like study planning,time management,notes,discussions,doubts clearing and many more............................i don't think these things you will get at your home

What I think is you have to manage 3 things at a time. Firstly Coaching, Then your articleship and then atlast self study which is most important of them all.

Now compare face to face classes with satellite classes. For face to face classes you have to come down all the way to Delhi from Fbd and that too in Nov.The classes start at 5:30, so you have to start atleast at 4. Whereas in satellite classes you have to just see recorded lectures and that too at the time of your choice. So I think satellite classes are better here.

But the disadvantage of satellite classes is that you can not query your doubt on the spot to the recorded lectures.

Moreever when you compare satellite classes to DVD/CD, then I think CD/DVD will win handsomely.Following are the advantages of CD/DVD over satellite classes: -

(1.) You have to just purchase or copy them once to the hard disk and you can watch the recorded lectures lifetime. But in satellite classes they at maximum show you the lectures 3 times.

(2.) You can watch CD/DVD at your own leisure and even at midnight if you are willing to do so. But satellite classes have timings. So you are restricted that way dear.

(3.) Each satellite class will cost you atleast Rs 10000/- to Rs 15000/-. But CD/DVD are comparetively very cheap and they remain with you for lifetime.

So I think you should go for CD/DVD.

As regards ammendments in Taxation, I think you should buy institute's Ammendment Books and Case Laws and update yourself. Morever for tax you can take face to face classes. It helps.

Well Mansi. What I think is that you should go for self study and if the need arises you can take Institute's Classes which take place at their Regional Centres. And always stick to one book.
