Currently SBI Magnum & HDFC both are underperformers.Principal personal tax saver seems to be a better bet.

The Fund you are suggesting me is a "Divident Payout" fund and in current market scenario i dont feel that they will declare any divident. even though their Dividend payout is impressive like in Mar'08- 400%.

Further If we look at sector weighting than Finacnial Services have aroung 18% weight in their portfolio.

For 3rd Quarter they produce -ve return of 8.45%.

Please clearify???

if we compare the ELSS funds , almost all have underperformed in the last 1 yr (obviously in view of the bear market).However , when we invest in ELSS we do it with for a long term horizon with  a lockin. So we can expect that some of the ELSS funds belonging to good fund houses will give good returns over along period. One such scheme , i think  surely , is SBI magnum tax saver which has given a return of 26.9% over 3 yrs . 

u can also check sundaram tax saver fund......if it is open for subscripttion now
