The tenancy period for a property let out is from 1st November 2021 to 30th September 2022, that is for 11 months. Monthly rent is Rs 22000. The question is whether the liability to deduct TDS arises since the rent due for the financial year 2021 - 2022 is only 1,10,000 (for the period November 2021 to March 2022) eventhough the rent for the entire period of the tenancy exceed the threshold limit of 2,40,000.
