When is one eligible for CA Final under Direct Entry Scheme?

I am aware that one is eligible for CA Final after 2.5 years of articleship. Does this period of 2.5 years of articleship include leave? And what is the maximum leave permitted? Also what about the remaining 6 months of Articleship? Do you have to complete that after the final exam.

A student registered under the Direct Entry Scheme is eligible for CA Final only after completion of 3 years of articleship. 2.5 years is for students via the CPT route.

Thank you for your response.

1. So does 3 years of articleship inlcude leave and the exam period? I'm assuming the maximum permitted leave by ICAI is approximately 156 days? Will this be included in the period of articleship (in the 3 years)?

2. Suppose i start articleship in August 2016 under direct entry scheme , will i be eligible for CA Final in May 2019?

3. Also to be eligible for IPCC under Direct entry scheme, one has to do articleship for 9 months. Can this period include leave? (For example 7 moths articleship, 2 months leave)?

1. 3 years of articleship is inclusive of the leaves taken but you will have to serve those leaves after the articleship as an extension unless if you've got a good boss. (pun intended)

2. Yes.

3. Yes, inclusive.

Like I am registering in direct entry route and my intermediate exam on November 2020. So if I clear group 1 in November 2020 and group 2 in may 2021, then Am I eligible for ca final in November 2023 or May 2024?
