When and how to submit submit online return

Dear friend i have to submit an income tax return. can i do so at home now? Is it possible without help of any particular software and printer etc. What will i need in hand at home. i have submitted offline returns till now

Dear Kumar,

to file the income tax return, you have to download offline excel utility of respective form from the income tax website.

for these you dont need to have any kind of software.

You will require printer as one copy of itrv is to printed and sent to Bangalore If u can manage that with any cyber cafe it easy you can easily do it Excel utility is available on the site. You must have a good knowledge of Excel to use it

no need of any software...u need to fill it in excel after enabling micros....

Plz kindly go the following link to upload the return

Just select the asst year and download the relevant form and proceed further. Dont fprget to click on "Enable macros" option after opening the excel file, otherwise u will not be able to validate or geenerate xml file.
