What is Toll Tax

this tax's been abolished now....well toll or 'chungi' was the tax which had to be paid by parties when they sent their goods to other states... 

Who have told u that this tax has been abolished?Our firm has an audit of Toll Plaza for more than a year.And the meaning given by u is wrong becoz every four wheeler vehicle have to pay this tax while passing from Toll Plaza.    My qus. is what is the meaning of "Toll" as Income tax is charged on income,sales tax is charged on sales,wealth tax is charged on wealth etc. So on which,this toll tax is charged?

yupp u r right but originally toll meant the same what i told u earlier..as far as ur q. concrnd.....

meaning of toll : "charge to use road or bridge"...it is applicable when a four wheeler passes from a toll plza.
