Dear All

I am unable to answer on following query raised by my friend-

His employer is providing him 15000/- Medical reimbursement as a part of his salary package. So he is required to submit medical bills to his employer to claim reimbursement but he has a query, whether he can submit -

1) the bills containing Medical tests instead of Medicines bills?

2) Whether he can submit the bills for April & May month in the month of June (In a single bill)??

Please resolve the queries?

Thanks

Wordings of Proviso to Sec 17(2) is expenditure actually incurred for medical treatment. So as per my understanding Yes medical test, doctors fees, ambulance expenses, medicines, hospital charges etc will come under medical expenses, if reimbursed by employer, upto RS.15000 P.a.in one financial Year.

Bill incurred for medical test will be allowed. It must be incurred during the year and clubbing of bills should not matter, as far as they are incurred for the F Y under consideration.
