What are you actually learning at articleship?

See, it's not totally in our hands what work we get in Articleship. It depends on ur principle work portfolio. Also there is huge difference between dummy and repetitive work. Please complete ur articleship and CA course and then you may explore different work by joining any other CA Firm for sometime i.e. 6 months-1 year to build ur CV and then work in industry for sometime. After that decide about career

• That's my point. If I have to join another firm to get the experience and knowledge then why do Articleship.
• P.S. I don't support dummy that is why I joined Articleship in the first place but I feel like our principles are playing with our future as they are getting work done in cheap.

You did not share what role are you playing in your Audit assignments.

Stat. Audit. is not just confined to vouching, there is a vast scope for observations provided you have a keen eye and adequate knowledge.

If you are a team member of the audit team, you should watch and learn how your senior/audit manager reveiws your work, notice the pending points that he/she notices, ask yourself what did you miss in the first place and how did it get noticed.

Once you have mapped the above, try using the same gap-finding technique within your work, your collegues work(at your level,ofcourse), share your veiws with your senior/audit managers.

This will help you to get noticed among your peers and who knows, by your next assigment you could be leading the audit, and that certainly does not involve "Putthe ticks maarna" :D

• I have not been to bank or insurance co. audit all I do is tax audit. I was supposed to go to Bank Audit this year but sadly this year they did not get allotted to my sir. 
• Yes my sir has work other than just tax audit. 
• I observe things during audit which if I ask my sir, he replies, " Aise Kaise or File me likh do". 
• I was asked to prepare Returns just twice which I did and later I  asked that was there any mistake? No replied my sir. I thought then maybe I'll get more returns but nothing till date. 
• P.S. "Puthe Ticks" makes me laugh all the time  ^.^

Vouching is all we are asked to do and look for applicability TDS, service tax, etc.
