Washing Allowance

Dear Sir,

Section 10(14)(i), following allowances are exempt, subject to actual expenses incurred:

Allowance granted to meet expenditure on purchase/ maintenance of uniform for performance of official duty.

if the Purpose of washing Allowance is to meet expenditure on Purchase and maintenance of uniform then fuly exempt i.e no tax is leviable on them.

but the purpose is other it is fully taxable.
