Sir i am a small time traders of cloths/garments. I do business in exhibition cum sale which happens twice thrice in a month and from my own house ( It is flat not shop) where nearby friends and neighbours come and buy.

So for i have not registered for Vat /cst or service tax. My turnover is 2 lacs for this year and next year it will cross five lacs.

My question is it necessary to register for service tax as well along with VAt/CSt?

How much charges can incur for this registration along with fee? Is it compulsory to keep some money In deposit for VAT( i had heard that)?

Pls guide with the process?

You need not worry to take a registration in VAT/ST because your sales are not liable for VAT or ST.When you deal in garments and sales exceed Rs 5 lakhs only,it may become necessary to register. But you will have to open a shop.Registration will not be given for such occasional business from house.For now,you nee not bother about it.......mjk

You need to Register for Service tax only if you are a "provider of services". However, here you are NOT providing service but rather you are Selling goods...So, do not worry about Service Tax Registration.

As regards VAT,

It is necessary to Register for VAT if you are a seller of goods, and if your Sales exceed Rs. 5 lacs in a year, which is not there in your case.
