Understanding the course structure

Hello everyone...I am a wannabe for the CA Inter course. I am a B.Com grad and elligible for the Direct Entry route. I read about the different steps that one needs to go through after enrolling for IPCC. The trouble that I am facing is that there are various combinations mentioned in these steps on various sites. Can anyone please help me understand the entire procedure step by step starting from the registration in IPCC. I have a few more quetions in my mind which I am jotting down one by one :

1) Under the Direct Entry scheme, can I just take up Group 1, pass the exam and then take up group 2 ?

2) What's the difference between Accounting Technician Course(ATC)  and IPCC Group 1 ?

3) What are the various trainings and courses I need to complete before going for the group 1 exam ?

Dear Pooja,

1. yes you can

2.ATC is accounting technician certificate, which is given after 1 year of articleship and completion of ipcc grp 1. you can continue with CA, even after ATC. inthat case, it will be 3+1 year of articleship

3.100 hours ITT, 35 Hours Orientation and 15days of GMCS - I and complete 9 months articleship
