Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the treatment of mutual fund investments when filing your Income Tax Return (ITR). It addresses whether purchasing mutual funds without selling or redeeming them requires ITR 3 or if ITR 4 is sufficient. The advice given is that ITR 4 can be used, and the mutual fund investment itself doesn't need to be declared until it is sold or redeemed.

  1. Yes, you can file ITR 4.
  2. No declaration of investment. It is declared only when it is redeemed.

Thanks for the reply sir
