I think the score card given by Shivakumar is totally imaginary, if there is a situation where a student scored 40 in all subject and short by only 1 mark in aggregate generally such 1 mark is given by institute to let the student pass.

Once l had also faced such a situation....got more than 200 in aggregate but failed in one subject by only 1 mark....unluckily in rechecking also no change......so I know the real value of 1 mark

@ Ashwani Generally 1 mark is awarded by ICAI this is the reason that there is so many students cleared with exact 200 or 400 in aggregate and exact 40 in individual subject. also many students got their certified copy says that they got extra marks.

@ Rupa that depends on ICAI. In may 2012 attempt you would not believe one of my friends cleared both group, he got 40 in dt. He got his certified copy from icai and found that it only 30. I was quite amazed.

ppl call d ca results as a game f luck...bt its nt d case..some time ur fortunate enough to get through with evn 40 marks in a subject n clearing dat grp wid exact 200....always remember fortune favours d braves...n icai can never awards any extra marks....sometimes due to standard scailing of marks we get extra or lesser marks dan d actuals with usually happens wen result is above or below a certain fixed percentage of result decided by icai....9 out f 10 times scailing is upwards due to strict checking of papers by examiners as instructed by icai......

It would be really poor if one fails for 1 mark. At the same time many CAs are coming out and there are no good jobs :(

let d desrving candidate pass....it wud be unfair to fail him/her jus coz der are no jobs available.....i feel getting d degree of CA is more important dan worrying about d job....atleast ders pysological relief dat he/she doesnt hav to struggle again wid d exams.....
