Telephone/internet usage bill rebate in income tax

There is no rebate available for telephone/internet usage expenses in Income tax. If you are carrying on a business/profession, the expenses such as these, may be deductible in the profit&loss account.

Dear Satish

Assuming you are engaged in a profession or carrying on a buiness, you are eligible to claim the telephone/internet expenses as expended fully for the purpose of such profession/business. Such claim has to be made in the return filed for such business/profession, whether sole propreitorship or otherwise.

Or if you are a salaried employee, sorry, you cannot claim any such expenses in your personal ITR.
