Quick Summary
If your employer has deducted Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on your salary, you can claim this amount back as a refund when you file your Income Tax Return (ITR). Ensure you obtain Form 16 from your employer and verify the TDS amount against Form 26AS, which can be accessed on the income tax website. By correctly reporting your salary and claiming the TDS, you can receive a refund from the IT department.
You are supposed to file ITR and show salary and other income. Same time claim TDS on salary as refund. You will get refund from ITax department. Get form 16 from your employer.
For claiming TDS in your ITR , the amount of TDS should be taken from Form 26AS or Form 16. You can view form 26AS from income tax website and ask your employer to provide you with form 16.
