Employer has got right to get the information or Employer is responsable to deduct TDS?

I don't think employer is under any obligation to take the income of previous employer from the employees.

It is emlployees' duty to provide the income details.

Employee has to furnish the details of income from previous employer by submitting the Form 16. In case the employee is unable to furnish Form 16 then he should submit Form 12B. There if the employee shows NIL income from previous employer, the current employer will not face any consequences. However, the current employer should also verify the same with the BIO-DATA submitted by the employee.

Sec.192(2) says the employee is under no obligation to give the details to the present employer for his previous salary.............he just has the option to do so.............

 Mahesh sir contention is right....!!

employee shd provide the detail in precribed form...so that a fair amount of tds shall be deducted ....as in lack of information ...new emplyer once again consider minimum slab ...which is totaly unfair,,,

I think .. Surjit is right

Employer should get declaration from employee of prevoius employer income, if employee is not employed last, he should give declaration for NIL Income
